The One File

If you start every AI chat from scratch, this is the fix. One file about you and your business, pasted once, and you never explain yourself again.

Here's the thing almost nobody does, and it's the single biggest reason AI feels mid for most founders. They start every single chat from zero.

Every time you open a new tab, AI has amnesia. It doesn't know what you sell, who you sell it to, how you talk, what your goal is, or what you'd never do. So you spend the first five minutes re-explaining your whole business — again — and the answers are generic because you only gave it a thin slice of context before you ran out of patience.

You'd never run a business with an assistant who forgot who you were every morning. But that's exactly how most people use AI.

The fix is one file. You write down who you are, what your business is, who your clients are, how you talk, your goals, and how you like to work — once. Then you hand it to AI at the start, or save it as permanent context, and every answer from that point lands sharper because it actually knows you.

Fill in every bracket. The more real and specific you are, the better every answer you ever get will be. This is the highest-leverage 20 minutes in your whole AI setup.

Context is the difference between a generic answer and a you answer. When AI knows your price, your client's exact pain, the words you'd never use, and how you like work delivered, it stops guessing and starts operating like someone who's worked with you for a year. You write it once. You benefit from it in every chat after, forever. That's how output compounds instead of resetting every morning.

This is a living doc, not a stone tablet. Your business changes, so keep it updated — when your offer shifts or your goal moves, edit the file, don't start a new one. And in tools like Claude, save this inside a Project or memory so it actually sticks across chats instead of dying when you close the tab.

If you've explained the same thing about your business to AI more than twice, it belongs in the file, not in a chat. Anything you'd have to repeat is a setting, not a task.
